Happiness – Thabiso’s Story

Welcome! Thabiso (to-be-so) started his journey to public speaking with a big fall. He sustained a T11 Spinal Cord Injury in 2011 after falling 22-60 feet from a white oak tree at Hidden Falls Park, Saint Paul, MN – Mni Sόta. He lost his job, car, home and became paralyzed from the waist down while being five months away from becoming a new father. Despite his devastating and hard lessons he had a choice to make. His new born son was the key ingredient, who inspired him to decide that his challenges would not bring him down but lift him up to rise even higher. Thabiso has a unique energy that is always uplifting and inspires people to strive to find their highest and most fulfilling life . He has spoken to thousands of high school and college students, disability and advocacy agencies, and to the public since 2013. He is a member of the Accessible Space, Inc. – Board of Directors; a nationwide accessible, affordable housing, property management and supportive living services nonprofit agency. He is an avid disability advocate and community builder.
